Came back from my uncle's funeral. A lot of stuff happened over there. The day before, I went to James home to sleep over. Hehe. SOMETHING HAPPENED! Played monopoly? Bei Bei went down as she only had Queen Astrid/Nasim Road. Hahah. Bad tactical move gal! Slept for only like 2 hours. Went down to Buona Vista for the funeral. Saw my relatives. All of them were either teary eyed or acting as if they aren't sad. Went to make those funny boat shaped stuff. Made too much. My homies and I decided to burn those papers(forgot what is it called =P) We burnt and burnt and burnt.......we then decided to play bridge. Lol. Bringing poker cards to a funeral. Everytyme me and my partner win the game, we took photos! Had dinner (noodles?). Then, the funeral rites started......
The funeral rites were....ganglandish! The muthafooking priest looked more like a 369 gangster then a priest. There's no priestly look like those pastors in a church or a monk in a temple. Those "priests" were smoking as if they were on fire, and they were just putting on a fanciful shirt and chanting bull. A typical prayer would say something like "XXX from Buona Vista, you have died from heart disease in China. Please come back to Singapore" or something like that. Then the females have to go into this area where the ashes is kept. Then the males have to do those kneeling up and down thingy. Imagine this : All the guy friends either look gangsterish or they were doing the rites in a gung ho way. So the scene looked straight out a of Triad funeral! We even shouted HUAT ARH!!! When the rites ended. Pai kias arh. We then took a lorry(yup, we sat on the back of the lorry, like gangsters!) to this carpark to burn those wooden houses. The heat was intense! Went back to the funeral area. Played bridge again. This tyme, Sherwin and Merline joined us! They were like 12 years old? But they still let a child like aura. Really nice to talk to. Sherwin is a tomboy! She crossed her legs and speak like a gangster. Sometymes she even kicked me! HAHAH! But I just played with her and she somehow bonded with me. My mums told me that I was like her during the good ol' days. Went to sleep like a homeless person on a garden bench. Bleh.
The next day I went back to my uncle's house to sleep. Woke up and attended the last rites. We then took a bus to Changi to give my uncle a sea burial. Took a ferry to the middle of nowhere. Witnessed my first sea burial. It wasn't like those chinese kung fu movies, with "Chang hai yi shen xiao" playing in the background, and the brother/homie of the deceased scattering the ashes into the sea. It's more like littering! They lowered the ashes into the sea via those pinkish coloured strings. WTF. Took a ferry back. Hehe. Went to my ah mah house and slack. That marked the end of 3 very....very...long days!
Your typical beng!
